Travel Blog: Food Trip in Singapore

Late post! Oh my! I Forgot to publish this post.. dear me.. so sorry if it took that long..

You have been warned...

When I travel to anywhere, I make sure that I get to taste the local food. I am a fan of Asian Food Channel and I love Asian food (Japanese, Korean, Laksa). I always see Singapore being featured in AFC, It may be that the Chef is from there or a segment where the host will travel to Singapore. I have always been wanting to try their Laksa, because I saw one episode where the host was comparing the Singapore Laksa to other Laksa of other countries or places. It was one of my goal when I went to Singapore, to taste Laksa and other delicacies that this country could offer.

Upon arriving at Singapore, there were no other food stalls open and we decided to eat here.. hahaha.. a taste of Mcdonalds in SG.. it was the cheapest in the airport, we settled for it for the meantime.. same taste but I think much bigger serving.. hmm not sure..

The next meal, after we settled in and rested.. we went around SG and found a food court at Orchard. The meal was good, ordered this Chicken curry noodles and Hokkien Chicken Rice.. mmm.. if you like spicy food, you can go for this chicken curry with a little taste of coconut milk and chili, but if not, Hokkien Chicken Rice is good for you, steamed or boiled chicken with added seasoning and a hot steam rice on the side.

After Roaming around the city, we decided to eat our dinner at a food junction in Bugis. You can choose from a wide range of food stall to order, but we decided to eat here at Teppanyaki. Food was tasty for 8 SGD, its really good, the chicken and the salmon is season so well, taste is like from a restaurant, good enough for its price. plus the steaming rice topped with egg. Sizzling Chicken with Salmon and Chicken with Egg Teppanyaki..

I saw this movie in Cinema One, about a kid who became the youngest billionaire in Thailand, and he was selling this Crispy Seaweed.. it was super good, crunchy, salty and tasty at the same time. Being a seaweed addict, I know when a seaweed is good or not, and this one is right up there in my seaweed meter. I knew we had to bring some home, but Jay said this is sold here in PH but no! waaa.. until now I still search for this in the grocery. (Update: I found it in SM MOA)

After spending a day in Sentosa, we went back to the mall. and there we found this food court, where there are a lot of different delicacies from different countries. We chose this Riverside Indonesian BBQ. It was super good for its price (5-8 SGD).

On our Last day, we first went to one of the famous hawker place in SG, Lau Pa Sat, and this is where I ate my first Laksa. I have been seeing this dish at Asian Food Channel, as mentioned above, and I've been dying to try this out. I'm so glad I tried it, it was delicious, the right amount of spice for me with coconut milk and bean sprout. I am drooling just thinking about it now.. a must try!

And for Dinner, we went to Makansutra Gluttons Bay (I think! i forgot the name). Our friend took us here, we rode a taxi to get to this place that is swimming in a lot of good food. Here are some snaps of the food we ordered. Looking at these photos makes me want to go back there and just eat.
