The UBER Way to Commute in Metro Manila | Alternative | How?

Hi There! If you live in Manila, The capital city of the Philippines, then you know how hard it is to commute. There are many many ways to get to your destination, that is if you don't have a car, you can go by Jeepney, Bus, MRT or Taxi.

If you are like me, who ride Taxi to work a lot, you experience all types of different taxi drivers, there are those who stinks, who complaints a lot, who asks who additional fee due to "traffic" and worst those who don't give change because of the reason "walang barya mam/sir". haaay.. you'll get stressed out. and now there's this news spreading about taxi driver spraying some strange odorless chemical on the air vents that will make passengers, specially women, numb or paralyzed in a sense, which will then lead to a very dangerous situation if you can't get out in time.

That is why, there are mobile applications invented to let you book taxi in advance with additional charge. They are very helpful in times of rush hour or bad weather where taxis are extinct. But we found this new app which let you book a car, it's like a rent-a-car but in taxi rate, to take you to your destination within metro manila. They base their rate on distance via GPS, and you pay via credit card or paypal setup in your UBER account. You can go home without a cash in your pocket, provided you have credit card or paypal setup in your account :D

We have tested this out, used it for 5 times now and all rides were very satisfactory, drivers are very nice, they even greet you once you get into the car. One driver even said, that all passengers are insured (200K per passenger) if something happens to you while inside uber cars.. awesome!..

Here is our first ride, on our way to Q.C for our Dance Throwdown competition. We are rode a Toyota Altis.

All Uber car's models are 2010 and up (I don't know anything about cars but my bf says they are new models and great ones.. hahaha). You can even use UBER black to book high end cars like SUV (again, according to him), but is expensive than normal uber cars.

Since they base their amount in distance, they charge much much cheaper than normal taxi. In a normal taxi, from our home to Q.C we were asked to pay 350, but with UBER, we only paid 228, very big difference.

You just need to download UBER app and setup an account, then you are all set. Here is a promo code you can use to get a free 300 credit, to use for a free ride :)

Here is us, doing a video to show you how to book and ride an uber car.. Enjoy your ride! :)

It's just awesome that there's this kind of innovation that exist. It makes life so much easier, well of course traffic in metro manila will always be there, but at least no hassle in those long lines in taxi lanes and dealing with taxi drivers who are rude, reckless and ask for extra payment.

Hope you took something from this post and I helped you in some way. Thanks again for the visit! :)

Have a nice day and God Bless! :)
