Shopping! when traveling to anywhere, Shopping is a must! (for me, of course it's not true for everyone :D you can always just enjoy the view and experience everything)
Here are some of the tips I can give you on where to go shopping for pasalubongs or for personal use, in my case, I shop for makeup..
If you are looking for cheap items to take home to the Philippines, you can go to :
1. Bugis St. - This is where you can find all kind of items and also memorabilia for a cheaper price (comparing to other place), I bought Singapore T-shirts here for 4 shirt for S$10. Also bought Key chains, 12 pcs for S$20 (not sure, I think it was about this price..waaa).
2. China town - Same as Bugis St., This also has a lot of merchandise, but I think this is cheaper, but only a little, that Bugis but almost same. The only thing is that, when we went there, there are a lot of food stalls outside. You can also buy here the famous singapore beef jerkey, and you can ask them to wrap it up for you for travel.
3. Mustafa Mall - This is located at the little India place. This is where we bought the chocolates that we brought home, you'll find all sorts of chocolates here in a low price.
4. Changi Airport - In case you forgot anything, you can always find it here at the airport after you checkin and all. You can also find stores here that sells items with zero tax. Specially for makeup lovers like me, You can find almost anything here in a cheaper price because there's no tax, plus you can also see here items that are travel size and in sets :)
For tourist, make sure you keep your passport with you when shopping at the department store, you never know when they give discount to tourist and always keep those receipts, 'cause for more than S$100 worth of buy, you'll get back the tax you paid once you reached the airport. The teller will give you a receipt that will be scanned at the automated machines (I forgot what it's called). Once you scanned it, the machine will print out a receipt of the amount that will be returned to you. just follow the instruction and more money for shopping at the airport! haha.
And that is all the advise I can give you.. sorry no pictures this time..
Hope you enjoyed reading and looking at the pictures of this post.. next up will be Food Trip in Singapore :) please come back tomorrow..
