Last year (November 2018), we received the most wonderful news we could ever have. I was in awe when we saw our little one on our very first ultrasound. It was a joy no one could ever explain.
This pregnancy has been a roller coaster ride so far, and the first trimester was.. wow! I was glad it was over. But the experience, I would not trade it for any other.
I am sure it was not just me who experienced the ups and mostly downs of first trimester, but one thing I can take away from all that, is that, woman, specially mothers are one of a kind. I now have a huge respect to all mothers who have gone through with that.
So, to help out other women who are going through their first trimester or who are planning to get pregnant, here are my First Trimester must haves. These items helped me survive the first few months. I hope this will also help you in any way.
Here are 11 things that were a must haves for me. some of them I still use until now.
- Coats and and long Scarfs. During my first few months of pregnancy, I was very very cold. I did not like being in front of electric fan. I suffer most when I am inside the office due to air-condition. I made sure I have coats and long scarfs with me to keep me warm.
- Leg Warmers. Again related to me being cold all the time. My feet and legs, specially, feels the coldest. Even when I am already sweating, my feet still is cold. weird. Therefore, I like to use leg warmers to keep it extra warm.
- Ankle Boots. Still related (haha!) I bought a flat ankle boots because ordinary shoes is not enough.
- Socks (specially the long ones). I use socks all the time even when I am asleep. I still do until now. This helps me sleep better at night.
- Candies/Mints. I hoarded on candies and mints (specially the mentos green ones). During those time when my taste buds only has bitter after taste, sugar free candies helped me a bunch.
- Buko Juice. I was not able to drink water for more than a month. Touching a bottled water would make me gag, that is how intense that was.I opted for Buko juice to keep me hydrated. I also ate fruits that have lots of juices in it.
- Warm Soup. I cannot eat anything that is cold, so warm soup is the best way to go. This helped me keep my food down.
- Face Towels. I used this to wipe my sweat and put it on my back to keep me from getting sick. Even though I was very cold most of the time, there are time when I still sweat a lot specially after a warm meal or a walk outside. I am still in warm PH weather after all.
- Plastic Bag. I always keep them in my bag to save me from those moments when my body did not like the meal I ate.
- Cloth Mask. I think I acquired a mutant sense of smell ever since I got pregnant. I can smell everything around me. The smell would make me dizzy and throw up, so I make sure I have mask on. I do not like the rubbery smell of the disposable ones, so I opt for the cloth mask. It helps mother earth as well. hehe.
- Vitamins. This is a must. take your vitamins to keep you and baby healthy. I drank Folart (Folic Acid) and Enervon (Vitamins) during the first trimester.
I must say, compared to other woman who had it worst, I was okay but it was not easy. I have read a lot of blogs and forums regarding pregnancy and I must say, every pregnancy is a different experience for each individual. You just have to go through it day by day, soak it all in and take each day one step at a time. I might not get to experience the same on my next pregnancy.
Thank you so much for the visit.
Have a blessed and wonderful day ahead.
