Week 3 at Maquillage Professionnel School of Makeup Artistry

Super late post! been busy all week after my class :|

Hello there! Thank you for coming back to my blog.. This post will be about my last 2 days of learning from this awesome school. I have been loving my journey and it was awesome to learn a lot of new stuff from highly capable instructors. Sir Mio and Ms. Yuki was awesome enough to share their knowledge and skills with us students.

Day 11 and 12 was my favorite, It challenged and push my skill to the next level. I never though I could create them but I did.

Day 11: Fashion Show Makeup

Model: Junalyn

This day, Sir Mio taught us how to use vibrant colors and how to blend them really well. This day was all about creating a flawless look but should also be quick in doing it, since this is a fashion show makeup look. During Fashion Shows, makeup artist should be quick in doing makeup since you'll be doing the makeup of not just one model, but can be 2 or more depending on how big the event is. Depending on the required look, you need to make it clean and fast as you can :)

Day 12: Creative Makeup

Model: Angie

I had so much fun creating and perfecting this look, I think it took me an hour and a half (?), a lot of blending happened, I never thought I could create something like this. Angie was patient enough, even though I know as the time went on she was already getting tired sitting still, but still she didn't move and was being a great model all through out the process.

This is her first time modelling, so she is not yet comfortable doing model pose, but I think she pulled it well really well. The photo came out nice enough to my liking :)

Here are a few of the shoot we did after class.

I had really fun (I am saying this a lot on my post, but really!) with this last two days. It was sad that it has to end but still a lot of thrill that I made it this far.

Next post, I will be talking about the graduation day! aaahh.. exciting! although late but still I am posting it to let you know how it went :)

Thanks guys for the visit and have a blessed day ahead! :)

Before and After Pictures for Week 3 at MP School of Makeup Artistry

Hey There! This is my last and final before and after for this post series. I think I am improving.. hahaha.. (very proud of myself for going this far!)

This week we have Fashion show and creative makeup. For our Graduation day (woo!) we were asked to do any look that we like from the previous lessons.

Here it is..

Day 11: Fashion Show Makeup

Model: Junalyn

Colors! I like to play with colors, though it's not my strongest point, I still like play with them.
This is actually my first time using vibrant colors and the instructor actually liked it, which made me feel alot better and confident in doing it. The makeup really complimented the skin and face of my model. and those lashes, wow! it just added a lot of oomph to the look.. those lashes are from Quiapo, my team mate who is close to that place, bought it for me.. :)

Day 12: Creative Makeup Look

Model: Angie

One thing I keep on saying is that, I don't know how to draw, the only thing I can draw is a group of circles that can create different types of fruits.. hahaha! but I am learning how to draw for the sake of my love for makeup, that is one important foundation to become successful, well that's my opinion, not true for all :)

So, in this makeup look, I was super happy that I was able to pull this creative makeup look. It was not easy, It took me some time to complete this and a lot of blending happen to perfect that color.. The yellow didn't really show in the photos though. but I am still happy with how it came out! :)

This below picture by the way, is the one I copied. not really that close but I feel that I did a good job (proud of myself! haha!)

Graduation Day Makeup Look - Closed Corner Technique

Model: Cy

This is the last day for my makeup school, it's just a chill day from all the creative and high fashion makeup look that we just did from the days before. The instructor told us to create any look that we like from the lessons that we learned, we can even mix and match. I chose to do a very simple, everyday makeup look using Closed corner technique. This is very very easy to do, I only used two colors, a light bronzy one and a dark matt brown. Cy looked very very beautiful, the makeup really suited her but of course she already looked good to begin with. I just enhanced her features :)

I really really enjoyed this journey! I hope you had fun looking at all of my before and after picture from week 1. It was an amazing experience to create different looks and to try doing makeups of different face, skin type and shapes :)

Thanks again for the visit and Have a blessed day! :)

I had so much fun creating different looks for this week, I never thought I could create a makeup such as the creative ones. I am not very good at drawing, so I am very surprised myself that I was able to do it but of course with the help of the amazing instructors :)

Before and After Pictures for Week 2 at MP School of Makeup Artistry

Hello! Thank you for coming back to my blog.. Here is my 2nd week blog post of the MP School of makeup. This experience is a blast. I have learned a lot from this school and I think I have improved in how I apply my makeup.

Here are the before and after photos of my Week 2 at MP School of Makeup.

Day 6: Smokey Eyes

Model: Jo

I see a lot of different smokey eyes, specially in youtube, different colors are combined to create that perfect smokey eye look. Here in MP, we were taught that when you say smokey eye, its just a one color that is blended until it creates that smokey effect. With my model, I chose the dark brown color, perfect to wear during the day. I blended the colors a little upwards, since she has a deep set eyes, I had to blend the color a little over the crease, so the color will still show even with the eyes open.

Day 7: Makeup for Black and White Photography

Model: Princess

I still have a love and hate relationship with black color, they can make or break the eye look. With this makeup look, we were asked to use only black color even on the lips. I was afraid to use all black color, cause it's messy and hard to fixed you messed up. The instructor was so good in teaching us the correct technique on how to create the black and white look, and In the end, I was able to create my first black and white look with out messing it up :)

Day 8: Makeup for Color Photography

Model: Junalyn

In this look, since we are doing color photography, we need to be clean and precised with the makeup application, colors should co-relate with each other. we were asked to do the closed corner technique and I chose the white and brown color. This is perfect for day look or even on weddings. A very simple makeup look.

Day 9: Dramatic Look

Model: Apple

I am so glad my cousin agreed to be my model for the day. She has a perfect skin so no concealing required, I moved to foundation and eyes. Since the eyes is the center of attention for this look (dramatic), we need to create a flawless canvass and lighter shade of foundation to make the eyes stand out more. I chose the colors plum, blue and black for that very dramatic effect. I only lacked lashes and this look may have become even more dramatic than it is. I chose red for the lips, cause its more beautiful that way. You can still pull off red lipstick with a dramatic eyes :)

Day 10: High Fashion Makeup

Model: Belle

Belle is my office-mate and also my model during my previous workshops. I am kinda familiar with her skin color, type and shape. For this look, we were taught the basic High Fashion Look. Ms Yuki was amazing in teaching us how to do the first step in doing a fairy-butterfly-like look, which we can use in the future. With High Fashion makeup, you need a flawless application of foundation to create a flawless look, with Belle, since she has a nice skin, I just applied a foundation that is close to her skin color. I also chose the color green, cause I like that color and It matches well with pink lips.

There you go for my Before and After Pics of Week 2 at MP School. Next week, I will be posting my remaining 3 days with this awesome school. My class will end this Wednesday, August 20.

Thanks again for the visit! Have a nice day! :)

Before and After Pictures for Week 1 at MP School of Makeup Artistry

Hey There! Thank you for coming back here on my blog.. and as promised yesterday, below is a series of my before and after looks with my models during my 1st week at MP School of Makeup Artistry..

This experience is still surreal to me.. I still can't believe I am now actually learning how to put makeup on on models with the help of professional makeup artists. Before this was just a hobby, now I think I am really going to make something out of this.. hopefully I can get clients that will also believe in my skills and help me with this passion :)

Our Instructor for this whole week is Mio Robo, except for Day 2 it was Ms Yuuki.

Here it is then..

Day 1: Application of Base/Foundation, Facial Contouring (Wet Method) and Eyebrow Shaping

Model: Loraine

For this day, we were thought how to properly put foundation, how to contour using wet method or using cream contours, and how to properly shape the brows. All the techniques they taught were very helpful in putting the base makeup properly and this is the first step to everything. Sir Mio was very good at teaching us how to do it and gives us compliments or comments that will enhance our skill more.

Day 2: Application of Base/Foundation, Facial Contouring (Dry Method), Eyebrow Shaping, Blush and Lips

Model: Marissa

This is same as the first day but only using the dry method technique, using powder contour instead of the cream ones. My model for this day has a very very fair skin, I almost had a hard time finding her perfect match of foundation, I had to mix 2 different shades. She also has a nice brows so I didn't find it hard to shape her brows. We also did a natural blush and lip shaping during this day.

Day 3: Facial Balance and Eye-shape Correction

Model: Alexis

This day we were taught how to deal with different eye shapes and how to enhance them. 2 makeup techniques was also introduced, the open corner and closed corner technique. I liked how small the face of my model this day. She also has the perfect brows which I found easy to shape.

 Day 4: Day Makeup

Model: Jonalyn

This day we were asked to use the open corner technique, and I chose to go with blue color as the crease color and I found it very hard to work with, it needed a lot of blending and since its not a neutral color, I needed to be precise with the line since it was very visible. for the brows, I found it hard to make the brows a little lighter for the look and since my model ha a thick eyebrow, It took me some time to shape her brows.

Day 5: Evening Makeup

Model: Marj

This day we were asked to do the 2nd technique, which is the closed corner. this technique I especially like, and since I am already ok or should I say a little better at blending eye shadows, I think I did a pretty good job with this eye look. I used a lighter pink shade on the inner corner,  a dark plum as my transition shade and a dark brown almost black color as the outer corner shade. The 3 colors blended pretty well. As for the brows, I really try my best not to shave or pluck my model's brows, I always like work with what I am presented with, and since I also don't have any tools at hand, I tried my best to shape my model's brows while hiding all those stray hairs. not really sure how I did with that..

So, there you have it, My Week 1 as a student at MP School of Makeup Artistry. I will post next week my before and after pictures for week 2. I am very excited for that post since that will be all about fashion photography look.. :)

By the way, all makeup used here were provided by the school. Brands are Makeup Factory and Beyu, the brushes we use are from Makeup Forever.

Thanks again for the visit! Please come back for more. Tomorrow I'll be posting my whole week 1 experience and also some pictures of my classmates in action :)

Thanks and Have a nice day!

I Got Enrolled at Maquillage Professionnel School of Makeup Artistry

Hi There! Thank you for visiting my blog! I wanted to share with you this new and exciting news! I enrolled at MP School of Makeup Artistry! awesome awesome feeling!

Here is how it happened...

Few weeks ago, I was invited by my teammates to enroll in this prestigious school of makeup artistry. I was already eyeing this school before, but was very hesitant to enroll because 1. The price they offer is not cheap and 2. I was still looking for someone to enroll with me. So when the invite came, I just had to enroll 'cause its a sign! (hahaha! naghahanap lang ng dahilan).

Here are a few pics of us enrolling together. It was just sad that I didn't pick the same sched as them due to work shift conflict. But still, we are learning the same thing, we could exchange notes and give comments to each other's work :) I post daily before and after pics on my FB page (VergieMakeup).

This school is located at Forbes Town Center, Burgos Circle Bonifacio Global City. I have heard a lot of great reviews from this school, in fact one of their student is the instructor on one of the Makeup class that I attended way back, and she was very good, she is now one of the preview magazine's makeup artist, so I know that this school will give me a lot of great experience.

The enrollment fee was 30k (told you it's not cheap), but we got discounts since it was three of us enrolled together, I think it was 15% off, not bad eh?..

So now, I just finished Day 6 of this amazing school and I have been learning a lot from the instructors. Next I'll be posting my Week 1 Before and After pics :) please do come back for more.

Thank you for visiting.. Have a nice day :)
