Hey There! Thanks for coming back here.. and as promised yesterday, I'll be posting my whole experience at MP School of Makeup Artistry.
This post will contain my experience during the first week of studying at MP School. You'll be able to see the setup, what makeups we use and who my adorable classmates are.
First of, our instructor is Mio Robo, He has been in the industry for over 20 years now and he was trained by Makeup Forever Makeup Artist and eventually became one of their MUA.
The school offers alot of courses and one of them is the course I am taking now, Module 1. This course is designed as an introduction to the art of makeup, you can take this course even if you don't know anything about makeup and become a professional makeup artist at the end. They have face correction, eyeshape correction, basic foundation application, lips and photography makeup.
I was super excited when I enrolled in this course.. so here are some of the pictures to show you or give you a glimpse of how it's like there.
First day, here is sir Mio teaching us the basics, with model Monica.
Day 2, I took a picture of my classmates, Ray (also known as Mariah, she has super flawless skin) and Ms. Ching, since it was early and no one is still around (early birds). Our instructor for this day was Ms. Yuki with model Alexis.
Day 3 was super fun since we were thought how to use eye shadows to different eye shapes and also using the 2 makeup techniques, Open and Closed corner.
You can also see my classmates in action, doing their model's makeup. Why so serious classmates? haha!
Day 4, Day Makeup, since my model was late, I went around and snapped photos of my classmates while doing their model's makeup. That's Ms. Cecille, The beautiful Ray and Ms. Ching, all smiling for the camera :)
Here you can also see the makeups we use, Makeup Factory and BEYU. Sir Mio is also showing us the look, that we will be doing for the day, with model Monica.
All of us there gathering around to have a closer look, and Ms Bernie making us all laugh.Day 5, Evening Makeup look. Before the class started, I snapped a photo of my adorable classmates, Arjean, Bernie and Jamie.
Here is Sir Mio, teaching us how to do the closed corner look and how it should look in a yellow light setup. He is soooo good, I can't stress that enough. The model here is Monica.
Look at those eyes!
This is my first time enrolling in this kind of school, if you are planning to enroll, be prepared to learn and learn alot. here are some of my tips to prepare you before enrolling or once you enter into this school (it's just a guide, don't take it too seriously, you may or may not follow them)
- Be prepared to pay a big amount of money for the tuition fee - This school is not cheap, so be prepared to pay a big amount of money (P30K to be exact). in my case, I got a 15% discount, since I went with my friends to enroll (3 at least I think to get a discount). They also allow installment basis when paying via credit card but a big discount (25%) when you pay straight cash.
- Bring notebook and Ballpen - the instructors will not allow you to record (video or voice) any of the lesson, they will just write on the board the list of topics for the day. Be prepared to write down everything, that you know, you will not remember in the future. This will help you to review the things you have learned. Also, the instructors and sometimes the students, will give important tips that may help you a lot, so write them all down.
- Prepare yourself to learn - for newbies, you maybe overwhelmed and will be afraid that you will not make it. don't be! the instructor will guide you all the way.. never be afraid to explore and learn and try things. as the Sir Mio told me, don't be afraid to make mistakes, they will not know what to correct if you don't make mistakes :)
- Always ask - The instructor will answer all the questions you have in mind, so never be afraid to ask. They are there to guide you, so ask them for guidance or if you are having doubt with the technique you are doing.
(I hope I covered everything!)
Anndd.. there you have it.. that's what we did on our first week. This course will run for 18 days, so I only have 5 days to go to complete the whole course.. Hopefully after this, I can get clients so I'll be able to enroll onto the next course.. yiii! #followyourdream
Next week or this Friday, I'll be posting All about week 2 experience, before and after photos. Please comeback for more! =)
Thanks again for the visit and Have a nice day!
<3 Gie
