The UBER Way to Commute in Metro Manila | Alternative | How?

Hi There! If you live in Manila, The capital city of the Philippines, then you know how hard it is to commute. There are many many ways to get to your destination, that is if you don't have a car, you can go by Jeepney, Bus, MRT or Taxi.

If you are like me, who ride Taxi to work a lot, you experience all types of different taxi drivers, there are those who stinks, who complaints a lot, who asks who additional fee due to "traffic" and worst those who don't give change because of the reason "walang barya mam/sir". haaay.. you'll get stressed out. and now there's this news spreading about taxi driver spraying some strange odorless chemical on the air vents that will make passengers, specially women, numb or paralyzed in a sense, which will then lead to a very dangerous situation if you can't get out in time.

That is why, there are mobile applications invented to let you book taxi in advance with additional charge. They are very helpful in times of rush hour or bad weather where taxis are extinct. But we found this new app which let you book a car, it's like a rent-a-car but in taxi rate, to take you to your destination within metro manila. They base their rate on distance via GPS, and you pay via credit card or paypal setup in your UBER account. You can go home without a cash in your pocket, provided you have credit card or paypal setup in your account :D

We have tested this out, used it for 5 times now and all rides were very satisfactory, drivers are very nice, they even greet you once you get into the car. One driver even said, that all passengers are insured (200K per passenger) if something happens to you while inside uber cars.. awesome!..

Here is our first ride, on our way to Q.C for our Dance Throwdown competition. We are rode a Toyota Altis.

All Uber car's models are 2010 and up (I don't know anything about cars but my bf says they are new models and great ones.. hahaha). You can even use UBER black to book high end cars like SUV (again, according to him), but is expensive than normal uber cars.

Since they base their amount in distance, they charge much much cheaper than normal taxi. In a normal taxi, from our home to Q.C we were asked to pay 350, but with UBER, we only paid 228, very big difference.

You just need to download UBER app and setup an account, then you are all set. Here is a promo code you can use to get a free 300 credit, to use for a free ride :)

Here is us, doing a video to show you how to book and ride an uber car.. Enjoy your ride! :)

It's just awesome that there's this kind of innovation that exist. It makes life so much easier, well of course traffic in metro manila will always be there, but at least no hassle in those long lines in taxi lanes and dealing with taxi drivers who are rude, reckless and ask for extra payment.

Hope you took something from this post and I helped you in some way. Thanks again for the visit! :)

Have a nice day and God Bless! :)

Travel Blog: Where to Shop in Singapore | Day 3 is Shopping Day

Shopping! when traveling to anywhere, Shopping is a must! (for me, of course it's not true for everyone :D you can always just enjoy the view and experience everything)

Here are some of the tips I can give you on where to go shopping for pasalubongs or for personal use, in my case, I shop for makeup..

If you are looking for cheap items to take home to the Philippines, you can go to :

1. Bugis St. - This is where you can find all kind of items and also memorabilia for a cheaper price (comparing to other place), I bought Singapore T-shirts here for 4 shirt for S$10. Also bought Key chains, 12 pcs for S$20 (not sure, I think it was about this price..waaa).

2. China town - Same as Bugis St., This also has a lot of merchandise, but I think this is cheaper, but only a little, that Bugis but almost same. The only thing is that, when we went there, there are a lot of food stalls outside. You can also buy here the famous singapore beef jerkey, and you can ask them to wrap it up for you for travel.

Travel Blog: Where to go and What to do in Singapore

Hello there! I am super late at posting this..sorry!.. these past few days was a roller coaster (I don't even ride those things. haha!) and I just had this time to blog about this.

So anyways, now, I will be sharing with you what we did during our stay in Singapore. This will also give you some tips or ideas on where to go or what to do if you happen to venture into this beautiful land :)

I actually created an Itinerary for us, from our friends who went there and from someone who is working there.

By the way, before you start your journey, be sure to download the MRT singapore map, you can find it here - http://www.smrt.com.sg/Trains/NetworkMap.aspx, it would be easier for you. Also we used an app, which helped us know what time the Bus will arrive and how much is the ride, http://gothere.sg/maps. But it's always fun to get lost in this city, beautiful view and no pollution.

Day 1: City Tour
We actually arrived at 11:30 PM of Sept 4, and since the MRT opens at 5:30am, we had to spend the night at the airport, since we don't know any other way to go to our friend's house. Airport in SG is amazing, lots of restaurant which are open 24 hours and it's so big and beautiful, you won't get tired looking at it hahaha.

We slept for 4 hours after arriving at our friend's house, then we started our day 1 in SG.

First stop is Gardens by the Bay - this is such a beautiful site, there's this building that has like a boat on top of it. They say that it's a bar and a pool there, we weren't able to go since we want to see other site.

Travel Blog: Our Trip to Singapore! | Birthday + 7th Year Anniversary

Traveling and going to new places is one of my lifetime goals. I want to travel the world and experience different culture, taste local food and see how beautiful the world is.

Hello There! This is an exciting blog for me. I have just started to travel outside the Philippines, and this time it's Singapore! how awesome is that? I never thought I'd be able to, one day, go to this beautiful place. It was just a dream then to go to other places, now, I am actually doing it, with God's blessing.

I just wanted to share with you my experience with this beautiful city, where we went, where to go if you ever want to go there and of course Shopping! (Makeup shopping for me), I'll share with you where to go shopping while here in SG :)

It was our 7th year anniversary and also my 28th birthday, so we decided to celebrate it in SG. We booked this last year.

It was so great for our friend, Koshie, to allow us to stay on her house for a few days. It saved us a lot!

Before going to the airport, be sure to have your documents (hotel booking, itinerary) and passport ready. They didn't check our hotel booking but just incase.. It never hurts to be ready.. they say that in some cases, they also check the money that you carry.

This city is super clean, and the transportation is super easy. Upon arriving at the airport, you can buy your Tourist pass (unlimited train and bus ride) at the MRT ticket office, it costs 10 SGD per day, we opted for 3 day pass, since we will be there for 4 days, on our last day we decided to use the daily pass instead. The MRT runs from 5:30am to 12mn, but the ticket office will open at 8am, you can only buy your tourist pass during that time. If you arrive before 8am, you can buy a daily pass ticket which you can reload for 6 times, this cost depending on the destination, just prepare S$1, S$2 and S$5 since the machine will only accept upto S$5, but you can ask to change your money at the ticket counter, which we did.

We rode the train and the bus to our friend's house, We only had a hard time with the bus since they only accept exact coins, good thing there was a store nearby and the owner changed our dollar bill..

Here are some of the photos of our departure from Manila and arrival to Singapore =)

Me and Jay, Plane ride to SG =)

The plane was huge, it was upto 30+ row, I think. We were at the 27.

Arrival at SG..

Our first meal! hahaha... we had to wait for the MRT to open, so this is what we can eat during that time.

SG Airport was huge and beautiful.

Our first SG MRT Ride..

Hope you enjoyed reading and looking at the pictures of this post.. next up will be where to go when in Singapore :) please come back tomorrow..

Thanks again for the visit and have a nice day! :)

I hate to say this, cause I love a lot of L'oreal products, but for me personally, I didn't like the smell of the L'oreal oil and nourishing mask, It smelled like a coconut oil that is used for cooking (if that made any sense), I am very particular of the scent of the products I used and for me, when I tried those product, I didn't really like how it smelled on my hair, but I still use it when I don't go out cause it really does make my hair shiny.

I liked the the shiseido concentrate and revlon lipstick though, I have already been using them everyday. I liked how the serum feels on my skin, I use it before I apply my L'oreal serum :)

Overall, this months box has been great, I am happy with all the products inside! :)

Thanks for the visit and Have a blessed day ahead!

Week 3 at Maquillage Professionnel School of Makeup Artistry

Super late post! been busy all week after my class :|

Hello there! Thank you for coming back to my blog.. This post will be about my last 2 days of learning from this awesome school. I have been loving my journey and it was awesome to learn a lot of new stuff from highly capable instructors. Sir Mio and Ms. Yuki was awesome enough to share their knowledge and skills with us students.

Day 11 and 12 was my favorite, It challenged and push my skill to the next level. I never though I could create them but I did.

Day 11: Fashion Show Makeup

Model: Junalyn

This day, Sir Mio taught us how to use vibrant colors and how to blend them really well. This day was all about creating a flawless look but should also be quick in doing it, since this is a fashion show makeup look. During Fashion Shows, makeup artist should be quick in doing makeup since you'll be doing the makeup of not just one model, but can be 2 or more depending on how big the event is. Depending on the required look, you need to make it clean and fast as you can :)

Day 12: Creative Makeup

Model: Angie

I had so much fun creating and perfecting this look, I think it took me an hour and a half (?), a lot of blending happened, I never thought I could create something like this. Angie was patient enough, even though I know as the time went on she was already getting tired sitting still, but still she didn't move and was being a great model all through out the process.

This is her first time modelling, so she is not yet comfortable doing model pose, but I think she pulled it well really well. The photo came out nice enough to my liking :)

Here are a few of the shoot we did after class.

I had really fun (I am saying this a lot on my post, but really!) with this last two days. It was sad that it has to end but still a lot of thrill that I made it this far.

Next post, I will be talking about the graduation day! aaahh.. exciting! although late but still I am posting it to let you know how it went :)

Thanks guys for the visit and have a blessed day ahead! :)

Before and After Pictures for Week 3 at MP School of Makeup Artistry

Hey There! This is my last and final before and after for this post series. I think I am improving.. hahaha.. (very proud of myself for going this far!)

This week we have Fashion show and creative makeup. For our Graduation day (woo!) we were asked to do any look that we like from the previous lessons.

Here it is..

Day 11: Fashion Show Makeup

Model: Junalyn

Colors! I like to play with colors, though it's not my strongest point, I still like play with them.
This is actually my first time using vibrant colors and the instructor actually liked it, which made me feel alot better and confident in doing it. The makeup really complimented the skin and face of my model. and those lashes, wow! it just added a lot of oomph to the look.. those lashes are from Quiapo, my team mate who is close to that place, bought it for me.. :)

Day 12: Creative Makeup Look

Model: Angie

One thing I keep on saying is that, I don't know how to draw, the only thing I can draw is a group of circles that can create different types of fruits.. hahaha! but I am learning how to draw for the sake of my love for makeup, that is one important foundation to become successful, well that's my opinion, not true for all :)

So, in this makeup look, I was super happy that I was able to pull this creative makeup look. It was not easy, It took me some time to complete this and a lot of blending happen to perfect that color.. The yellow didn't really show in the photos though. but I am still happy with how it came out! :)

This below picture by the way, is the one I copied. not really that close but I feel that I did a good job (proud of myself! haha!)

Graduation Day Makeup Look - Closed Corner Technique

Model: Cy

This is the last day for my makeup school, it's just a chill day from all the creative and high fashion makeup look that we just did from the days before. The instructor told us to create any look that we like from the lessons that we learned, we can even mix and match. I chose to do a very simple, everyday makeup look using Closed corner technique. This is very very easy to do, I only used two colors, a light bronzy one and a dark matt brown. Cy looked very very beautiful, the makeup really suited her but of course she already looked good to begin with. I just enhanced her features :)

I really really enjoyed this journey! I hope you had fun looking at all of my before and after picture from week 1. It was an amazing experience to create different looks and to try doing makeups of different face, skin type and shapes :)

Thanks again for the visit and Have a blessed day! :)

I had so much fun creating different looks for this week, I never thought I could create a makeup such as the creative ones. I am not very good at drawing, so I am very surprised myself that I was able to do it but of course with the help of the amazing instructors :)

Before and After Pictures for Week 2 at MP School of Makeup Artistry

Hello! Thank you for coming back to my blog.. Here is my 2nd week blog post of the MP School of makeup. This experience is a blast. I have learned a lot from this school and I think I have improved in how I apply my makeup.

Here are the before and after photos of my Week 2 at MP School of Makeup.

Day 6: Smokey Eyes

Model: Jo

I see a lot of different smokey eyes, specially in youtube, different colors are combined to create that perfect smokey eye look. Here in MP, we were taught that when you say smokey eye, its just a one color that is blended until it creates that smokey effect. With my model, I chose the dark brown color, perfect to wear during the day. I blended the colors a little upwards, since she has a deep set eyes, I had to blend the color a little over the crease, so the color will still show even with the eyes open.

Day 7: Makeup for Black and White Photography

Model: Princess

I still have a love and hate relationship with black color, they can make or break the eye look. With this makeup look, we were asked to use only black color even on the lips. I was afraid to use all black color, cause it's messy and hard to fixed you messed up. The instructor was so good in teaching us the correct technique on how to create the black and white look, and In the end, I was able to create my first black and white look with out messing it up :)

Day 8: Makeup for Color Photography

Model: Junalyn

In this look, since we are doing color photography, we need to be clean and precised with the makeup application, colors should co-relate with each other. we were asked to do the closed corner technique and I chose the white and brown color. This is perfect for day look or even on weddings. A very simple makeup look.

Day 9: Dramatic Look

Model: Apple

I am so glad my cousin agreed to be my model for the day. She has a perfect skin so no concealing required, I moved to foundation and eyes. Since the eyes is the center of attention for this look (dramatic), we need to create a flawless canvass and lighter shade of foundation to make the eyes stand out more. I chose the colors plum, blue and black for that very dramatic effect. I only lacked lashes and this look may have become even more dramatic than it is. I chose red for the lips, cause its more beautiful that way. You can still pull off red lipstick with a dramatic eyes :)

Day 10: High Fashion Makeup

Model: Belle

Belle is my office-mate and also my model during my previous workshops. I am kinda familiar with her skin color, type and shape. For this look, we were taught the basic High Fashion Look. Ms Yuki was amazing in teaching us how to do the first step in doing a fairy-butterfly-like look, which we can use in the future. With High Fashion makeup, you need a flawless application of foundation to create a flawless look, with Belle, since she has a nice skin, I just applied a foundation that is close to her skin color. I also chose the color green, cause I like that color and It matches well with pink lips.

There you go for my Before and After Pics of Week 2 at MP School. Next week, I will be posting my remaining 3 days with this awesome school. My class will end this Wednesday, August 20.

Thanks again for the visit! Have a nice day! :)

Before and After Pictures for Week 1 at MP School of Makeup Artistry

Hey There! Thank you for coming back here on my blog.. and as promised yesterday, below is a series of my before and after looks with my models during my 1st week at MP School of Makeup Artistry..

This experience is still surreal to me.. I still can't believe I am now actually learning how to put makeup on on models with the help of professional makeup artists. Before this was just a hobby, now I think I am really going to make something out of this.. hopefully I can get clients that will also believe in my skills and help me with this passion :)

Our Instructor for this whole week is Mio Robo, except for Day 2 it was Ms Yuuki.

Here it is then..

Day 1: Application of Base/Foundation, Facial Contouring (Wet Method) and Eyebrow Shaping

Model: Loraine

For this day, we were thought how to properly put foundation, how to contour using wet method or using cream contours, and how to properly shape the brows. All the techniques they taught were very helpful in putting the base makeup properly and this is the first step to everything. Sir Mio was very good at teaching us how to do it and gives us compliments or comments that will enhance our skill more.

Day 2: Application of Base/Foundation, Facial Contouring (Dry Method), Eyebrow Shaping, Blush and Lips

Model: Marissa

This is same as the first day but only using the dry method technique, using powder contour instead of the cream ones. My model for this day has a very very fair skin, I almost had a hard time finding her perfect match of foundation, I had to mix 2 different shades. She also has a nice brows so I didn't find it hard to shape her brows. We also did a natural blush and lip shaping during this day.

Day 3: Facial Balance and Eye-shape Correction

Model: Alexis

This day we were taught how to deal with different eye shapes and how to enhance them. 2 makeup techniques was also introduced, the open corner and closed corner technique. I liked how small the face of my model this day. She also has the perfect brows which I found easy to shape.

 Day 4: Day Makeup

Model: Jonalyn

This day we were asked to use the open corner technique, and I chose to go with blue color as the crease color and I found it very hard to work with, it needed a lot of blending and since its not a neutral color, I needed to be precise with the line since it was very visible. for the brows, I found it hard to make the brows a little lighter for the look and since my model ha a thick eyebrow, It took me some time to shape her brows.

Day 5: Evening Makeup

Model: Marj

This day we were asked to do the 2nd technique, which is the closed corner. this technique I especially like, and since I am already ok or should I say a little better at blending eye shadows, I think I did a pretty good job with this eye look. I used a lighter pink shade on the inner corner,  a dark plum as my transition shade and a dark brown almost black color as the outer corner shade. The 3 colors blended pretty well. As for the brows, I really try my best not to shave or pluck my model's brows, I always like work with what I am presented with, and since I also don't have any tools at hand, I tried my best to shape my model's brows while hiding all those stray hairs. not really sure how I did with that..

So, there you have it, My Week 1 as a student at MP School of Makeup Artistry. I will post next week my before and after pictures for week 2. I am very excited for that post since that will be all about fashion photography look.. :)

By the way, all makeup used here were provided by the school. Brands are Makeup Factory and Beyu, the brushes we use are from Makeup Forever.

Thanks again for the visit! Please come back for more. Tomorrow I'll be posting my whole week 1 experience and also some pictures of my classmates in action :)

Thanks and Have a nice day!

I Got Enrolled at Maquillage Professionnel School of Makeup Artistry

Hi There! Thank you for visiting my blog! I wanted to share with you this new and exciting news! I enrolled at MP School of Makeup Artistry! awesome awesome feeling!

Here is how it happened...

Few weeks ago, I was invited by my teammates to enroll in this prestigious school of makeup artistry. I was already eyeing this school before, but was very hesitant to enroll because 1. The price they offer is not cheap and 2. I was still looking for someone to enroll with me. So when the invite came, I just had to enroll 'cause its a sign! (hahaha! naghahanap lang ng dahilan).

Here are a few pics of us enrolling together. It was just sad that I didn't pick the same sched as them due to work shift conflict. But still, we are learning the same thing, we could exchange notes and give comments to each other's work :) I post daily before and after pics on my FB page (VergieMakeup).

This school is located at Forbes Town Center, Burgos Circle Bonifacio Global City. I have heard a lot of great reviews from this school, in fact one of their student is the instructor on one of the Makeup class that I attended way back, and she was very good, she is now one of the preview magazine's makeup artist, so I know that this school will give me a lot of great experience.

The enrollment fee was 30k (told you it's not cheap), but we got discounts since it was three of us enrolled together, I think it was 15% off, not bad eh?..

So now, I just finished Day 6 of this amazing school and I have been learning a lot from the instructors. Next I'll be posting my Week 1 Before and After pics :) please do come back for more.

Thank you for visiting.. Have a nice day :)

STEP UP All In Movie | Yay or Nay

Hello! Thank you for coming back to my blog.. great to have you again..

Last Sunday, July 20, 2014, I went to watch the movie Step up all in.. I was all giddy and excited to watch the movie, since I think this will be their last installment of the movie series. I was thinking that they will put all they've got in this movie and they have invited back in some of the cast from previous movie.

This movie was starred by the female lead of step up 2, the streets, Andie and Step up Revolution, Sean. They each were great in their individual movies but I was not so sure when they were combined in the movie.

I went inside the cinema, MegaMall cinema 4, It was free-sitting, which is one thing I hate about MegaMall, most of the times I go there it's always free sitting. I was accompanied by Jay, and we both hurried to take our sit since it was 5 minutes before the movie would start.

Then the movie started....

**SPOILER ALERT***

I was confused at first cause, I know this movie will be about dancers doing what they love and doing it as a profession, they were auditioning and doing some weird moves. I was in shock that they were doing those moves when in fact they were all great, if not the best, dancers. I saw Sean and his crew, which got me thinking, why won't they audition using their The Mob moves to get in.. oh well, continue watching...

And then, The MOB left to go back to Miami and Sean went to find Moose for help. why didn't they do that in the first place? hmmm.. oh well, at least Moose came out, which got me excited again...

fast forward to the contest.. Sean created a crew of his own.. why didn't he called The MOB? why create a crew of your own, when you have your so-called crew family? but then again, the Mob also joined the contest.. confused me again..

Then the movie moved on to a more crappy scenes, the story really didn't do anything, Sean and Andy didn't have any chemistry.. If only they brought back Chase.. They were delivering sick dance moves (at the later part of the movie) but that's all the movie has.. unlike the previous step up movie.. It was sad, coming from a big fan of the Step-up movies.

The only thing I like about it is when Moose was doing his dance moves and when Sean and Andy danced at an old LA street.

And then the finale, they delivered great dance moves, I even saw Poreotics (YEY!) and Jaja of I.am.Me. The Mob and the LMNTRIX combined to perform at the finale, I admit it was awesome.

Makeup-related, I liked all of Alexxa Brava's look. I haven't seen anyone on youtube do her look yet.. would love to see a tutorial on that one. Or maybe I should create one instead.. Gold and Black was her look at the finale (Can't find any picture on google).

All in all, I think they didn't do a good job in this movie, I hope they do another movie with Moose in it..

That's all for today. Thank you for the visit, comeback again soon :)

Log Horizon VS Sword At Online | Anime

Oh those sleepless nights again.. been up all night trying to finish a series of anime and I just can't stop when they are so good.

Hey Guy! welcome welcome back to my blog! I wanted to share with you these anime that I am currently watching! all are very very good and has a cute and exciting story line.

Please be warned that this blog post may contain spoilers!

This two anime has a very similar story but all so different in other aspects. They're both about VRMMORPG game (aahh! I miss playing RPG game). If you are not familiar with MMORPG then.. maybe you are! you just don't know it :D (Ragnarok, Flyff, Phantasy Online.. to name a few.. there are alot of them). and since this is a japanese anime in a future world, they play Virtual games, where your body is taken to the actual game site or so it seems.

LOG HORIZON
I really liked how this anime started, having Shiro as the main character, who is very intelligent and great with strategy. Akatsuki (ring a bell? naruto fans?), I especially like her.. she is like the girl version of my fave hunterXhunter character Killua. Naotsugu, who is very funny and a pervert.. hahaha.. They met alot of character, since Shiro is very famous for his strategic skill from the disbanded Debauchery Tea Party and having a high level character (level 90).

In this anime, the players were trapped in their game, their actual body were taken inside the Elder's Tale game. They are not able to log out, they don't know how they can go back. Shiro is looking for a way to return. As a player, they each have their skill and can use them to battle monsters or demi-humans. Teleport to other town was also disabled,so they need to travel by land, which was one thing I like about this anime, Adventure! Good thing, when they die, they are revived back to the Cathedral.

I really liked the continuity of the story, their friendship, how loyal they are to each other and how cute Akatsuki is.. Shiro is very cool with his intelligence and strategic mind.. I also liked their adventure and how strong their characters are! :)

I can't wait for season 2! (coming this September 2014)

SWORD ART ONLINE
This is similar with Log Horizon with a slight difference ;) still a VRMMORPG and the game is called Sword of art online (SAO) for season 1, and changes to Alfheim Online for season 2.
In season 1, players who die cannot be revived and is said to also die in real life. they only need to finish the game to be able to logout, which Kirito wants for him and Asuna.

I got confused at first with the story line of this anime. Kirito was the only permanent character at first, but as the episode went on, it became more and more interesting and I really liked how cool Kirito is. I liked the episode where Yui came in, she is super cute :)

I recommend you watch this two anime, you will have fun and may want to play RPG game.. hahaha.. I am now itching to play.. if only I have a fast internet at home.. oh well..

Thanks for the visit ;)

Have a nice day! and be safe since typhoon Glenda just passed.
